Take a journey of discovery with the Goethe-Institut’s “Deutsche Spuren” (i.e. German traces) app: an interactive tour guide for the Federal Republic of Germany’s globally active cultural institute. Follow German footsteps in Israel, Brazil, Stockholm, Ireland or Bratislava in Slovakia: read and listen to descriptions of places with a connection to Germany – put together by local Goethe-Instituts. Learn more about architecture, history or people and look at pictures and videos. The Goethe-Institut has been and is internationally active for over sixty years and in over 90 countries around the world: it promotes knowledge of the German language abroad, conveys a comprehensive picture of Germany and cultivates international cultural cooperation. Die “Heiße Kartoffel” ist ein digitales Deutschlern-Spiel des Goethe-Instituts. Mit dem Spiel trainierst du zusammen mit deinen Freunden deinen Wortschatz, dein Allgemeinwissen und deine Grammatik. Du spielst „Heiße Kartoffel“ mit maximal fünf Spielern. Gemeinsam bildet ihr ein Team. Ihr meldet euch mit einem Gruppennamen, eurem Land, eurer Stadt und mit euren Namen an. Zu jeder Aufgabe sollt ihr die richtige Antwort finden. Es gibt immer vier mögliche Antworten. Jeder Spieler hat eine begrenzte Zeit, um die Frage zu beantworten und er darf auch seine Mitspieler fragen. Nach Ablauf der Zeit gibst du das Smartphone an den nächsten Spieler weiter. Der beantwortet die kommende Frage. Bei jeder neuen Runde wird die Zeit zum Beantworten der Fragen automatisch kürzer. Ziel des Deutschlern-Spiels ist es, dass ihr möglichst viele Fragen gemeinsam in eurem Team richtig beantwortet. Je mehr Fragen ihr falsch beantwortet, desto “heißer” wird die Kartoffel auf dem Display. Euer Smartphone ist also die “Heiße Kartoffel”. Ihr müsst sie schnell weitergeben, um nicht zu verbrennen! The City of Words
With “Learn German – The City of Words” the Goethe-Institut is issuing an online game for German learners at Level A1. This free game combines elements from hidden-object puzzles with both co-operative and competitive multi-player games where everyone learning German at beginners’ level can expand their vocabulary skills and compare themselves with others. Playfully presented language exercises transfer basic grammar structures of the German language.
