The original Donatos app, while dated, confidently worked without issue. They recently built a new app and it has been buggy since day one. Navigation works sometimes, other times it does not. They got rid of the app-native login and went with an easier to build web authentication at the price of a more poor UX experience. Overall I used to choose to eat here often, but ever since this new app was introduced, I hardly do anymore and go with competitors who’s app is functional.
Cannot order a plain pizza.
It’s terrible. Just plain garbage.
Horrible app. Takes forever to try to place an order, and that’s if it even loads to begin with. So many times I just abandon my order and order from somewhere else. I can only imagine how much money Donatos is losing because of this horrible app. They’d be better off using GrubHub or UberEats. This app is a stinker!!
The app signs me out every time. When I go to sign back in, it defaults to “send me junk email”. Every time. I don’t want your junk email; I just want a pizza.
This “new” app is absolutely awful. I used the old app with no issues whatsoever and now with this new app I can’t even get it to log me in and keep me logged in. And then when I try to log in again I get an error and it just keeps doing it. I was logged in for 5 minutes before this and it was duplicating and removing items from my cart. I finally gave up and called the store and then they couldn’t give me the $5 off coupon I was offered on the app because I couldn’t log in to get the code. Just horrible and stupid. I was a huge fan of everything Donatos but this experience, pardon the choice of words, has really left a sour taste in my mouth. So very disappointed.
This app no longer works. For what ever reason I can no longer auto log in. My account is gone. Tried to set up a new account but when I enter my address to locate the nearest store I just get a spinning wheel that never stops. Can’t do anything else.
I’ve never liked the app and have always ordered online no problems. About a month ago I wasn’t able to order online as easily as I had been and switched to the app. But every time I use the app it redirects me online to log in. I’ve logged in using Apple ID, Facebook, username and password, and I get the same results, it always redirects me. Once I’m in it dosent save any of my information, auto chooses pick up instead of delivery, and tells me my pizza will be delivered at the time I made the order. I’ll get an email confirmation my order was placed but I won’t get the usual email of “your pizza has left building” until after it’s delivered. They’ve changed something recently and it’s really frustrating.
The app is terrible. The store I go to is great. Can’t order hall toppings through the app. Used rewards points for a salad, showed up in the app but not when I picked up and payed at the store. Get a new app developer.
Since the app was updated in 2022, I cannot access the complete menu which makes it useless if you want anything other than a pizza. You can’t access Appetizers, Salads, Subs, or Desserts menu to add to my order.
New app is horrible. Took 10 min to place order and it would not take the special coupon you sent because the app was not working. Also as I look at my credit card statement, it appears that you have missed charging tips. Sorry to the delivery drivers that I (inadvertently) did not tip. I sent a message to customer service but no response. I suspect they have a lot of complaints. Fix the app and send more coupons!
This has to be the most embarrassing app for an otherwise reputable company I’ve ever seen. Ordering anything is an exercise in futility. Never stay logged in, won’t store payment methods, errors on almost every tap. Any competitor’s app is miles better. Donatos corporate has to be horrified this made it out into the wild.
When you try to customize a salad on the app OR the website (tomatoes aren’t an option by the way. Why not) the Add To Order button becomes transparent and you can no longer add it to your order. Couldn’t get it to work at all in the all. So I had to go the website, customize the salad, then refresh the salad webpage and add it to my cart. Then once it was in my cart it doesn’t show the info so I have no idea if the salad was actually customized or not. Guess we’ll find out soon! This nonsense has been going on for YEARS. Please, PLEASE hire someone to fix this who knows what they’re doing.
With the new update you can no longer remove toppings on signature pizzas. I have to call the restaurant in order to order the Hawaiian sans the ham. Prior to the update I could do this online. I tried to circumvent it by ordering a make your own but that didn’t offer all the toppings (cinnamon and almonds) that are on the Hawaiian.
I’ve reported to my local store, sent messages via social media and the app is still broken.
App will only allow you to order Pizza. I called the store and they said the app has been broken for a long time. Hard to understand. Funny thing is I can’t remember the last time I called for pizza and wings, the previous app worked flawlessly. Why fix what’s not broken. Not using this crap app any longer or calling, what a hassle
The old app was so much better. You have to log into the app each time you wanna use it. Payment information is never stored. Twice, from 2 different locations the order never arrived. Delivery issues supposedly and blamed on DoorDash.
Another food delivery app with hidden fees and charges, the math will never make sense when compared to the CC statement.

Thanks for the app overhaul. I guess. The UX navigation isn’t great. Key thought - how about when you push the “place order” button IT ACTUALLY PLACES THE ORDER. Or does something…anything…WTH…
