Provider Resilience App DESCRIPTION

The fast pace of military operations and frequent deployments affect the entire military community. For health care providers treating military personnel, the intense demands on their time and personal resources can lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary traumatic stress. Through psychoeducation and self-assessments, Provider Resilience gives frontline providers tools to keep themselves productive and emotionally healthy as they help our nation’s service members, retirees, and their families.

The Provider Resilience home screen gives a quick snapshot of the user’s overall resilience rating – generated through user self-assessments – and a countdown clock showing how long until the user’s next vacation. Compassion fatigue, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress ratings are automatically generated, allowing users to monitor their professional quality of life over time.

Provider Resilience also features stress-busting and compassion satisfaction-building tools. Military Meditation Coach podcast episodes help users learn mindfulness and meditation techniques. Physical exercise cards and inspiration quotes give users a break from daily stress.

Provider Resilience was developed by psychologists at DHA Connected Health, which is the branch of the Defense Health Agency responsible forreviewing, evaluating, coordinating, and integrating the use and development of health technology supporting Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries. These technologies include virtual health, mobile apps, mobile web, virtual reality, augmented reality, and wearable devices.

PE Coach is designed to be used during therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with a health professional who is trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy. Maxmarie..

It’s great to be able to do a quick check on the proQOL to monitor my functioning as a trauma therapy provider with helpful suggestions for self care as well!

Vandykeb

Some very helpful info and tools! FYI the videos aren’t working on the app

This is a great idea and I'm looking forward to tracking this. I do work with eating disorders, which is difficult. It also makes me concerned that one of your items on the "don't do" list was "I ate junk food." I would prefer to not be shamed for eating what some call "junk food." Perhaps changing this to "I ate due to emotions" would be better and what you're really getting at. There is nothing inherently wrong with eating candy or chips, but emotional or stress eating is different. Thanks for listening!

musicman..

This is one of the best apps to help therapists remember to take care of themselves. Thank you! As a supervisor I recommend it for all of my staff

As a therapist, taking care of oneself can be difficult. I think this app is very helpful at monitoring oneself and providing tools as well. Perhaps, the humor portion might be screened, as one user suggested. Overall, great app.

Dawnus

I love the idea of this app, but couldn't believe what I saw yesterday when I selected the I Need a Laugh tool and got a Dilbert comic featuring someone's brain exploding out of the back of their head, especially as I'd just been listening to a patient's combat trauma which featured seeing the back of someone's head after they'd been shot in the face. What an awful "humor" selection for an app supposedly designed to support therapists who specialize in treating trauma.

mpotoczn..

It would be great to make this tool have a little more feedback. You answer a ton of questions but the feedback is the meter on the dashboard.

skyllaky..

Froze up after 30 seconds of use. Not much use to me that way.

Prxt

Froze up, deleted it and started over. Froze up again. I like the idea, but this needs some work before it's really ready for use.

Freezes up & no new information. If you don't already know what's contained in this app, you shouldn't be taking care of patients.
