Selected for PAX10! Indiecade 2012 Nominee! Winner of Best Puzzle Game 2011 Intel Level Up! Kotaku Gaming App of the Day!
“Nigh-on perfect. 10 out of 10” — TouchArcade
“Easily one of the best puzzlers available on any gaming platform … should not be missed. 5 out of 5” — AppShack
Splice is an experimental and artistic puzzler. Immerse yourself in its microbial world and start splicing! Every level (“strand”) consists of a number of cells that you will need to rearrange into a target structure in several moves (“splices”). Exploration and experimentation are key in determining how the curious little cells react to each other. Predict the sequence of splices you’ll have to make in order to successfully arrange each strand. Re-sequence, mutate, and splice your way through this unique puzzle experience, and you’ll exercise your ability to visualize sequential series of shapes over time. Solve your way to the final strands and you’ll be left with a heady sense of mental accomplishment!
I love this app. And I install this game in my pc. And when I found this app I am so happy. But there is no 'BGM'. Yes back ground music doesn't exist in this game. I don't know why!!! When I start game, only music you can hear is company introduction music... I so disappointed... And last review is about 4years ago... please patch this...
I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do, or why the other reviewers glow about this game. I can make splices, but only because I try different things and one works for some reason.
Most people say this gam is good, and I BELIVE them, but for me it just goes to a black screen after is says "SPLICE". Please fix it and I will give this the review it deserves.
This app is the worst app I've downloaded. Doesn't even make sense!
I can’t believe that Apple includes this in their “intuitive controls” collection — the “control” is maddeningly frustrating. Want a beautiful game? Get Osmos. Want a frustrating game? Get Splice.
Can't figure it out!
Visuals look nice and fluid and obviously someone worked hard at it. However I have 3 main gripes with this game 1.) There are no instructions making it frustrating to even figure out the point of the game 2.) After completing a level there was very little feeling of accomplishment, but rather more a feeling of relief that I was done. 3.) Unless you are a genetic engineer ( which I am not) you will probably find this game pretty boring unless, of course, splicing genes just thrills you to no end. Oh, and the incessant piano looping over and over is pretty annoying too.
This app is a complete waste of money and time, There are no directions so you have to muddle through. Once you do figure it out you realize this is the most boring puzzle game out there. Kudos to being featured as a top indie game, that is how you got this suckers money.
I'm already bored with this game. All you do is rearrange ovals in a pattern.... Not worth the $$
This game was to little for so much.
As much fun as trying to poke your fingers through a keyhole.
Go thru 2 sequences....then don't understand. Drag, hold, tap, up & down...nothing works. How about instructions or sample.
Without knowing what functions I'm able to do, how can do it? Ridiculously lacking in instructions!
Don't waster your money
Can't stand the background piano score. Game is OK.
The download page indicates that Splice is optimized for the iPad 2 and that iPad 1 users may experience sluggish play. They don't mention that it may in fact not run at all on iPad 1. It looks like a fun app, i wont know until i buy an iPad 2, i guess. Thanks a lot.
iPad 1 users will experience "sluggish performance"?! How about it WON'T WORK AT ALL!! What a complete WASTE of money. Should really give us iPad1 users a refund and change the requirements.
1. This game is VERY annoying at first, as the directions are too minimal. The tutorial is nearly useless. 2. Once you figure it out, the puzzles are a lot of fun. 3. There are not enough levels!!! It had just gotten really interesting, and the game was over. Why not introduce more complex shapes? Or more requirements, like different colors for different sections of the shape? Or build several pieces separately and then fit them together? Definitely not worth the money as the game currently stands. Less than 1 day playing to complete the game, and that's not even playing full time.
Is it just me? I can't find any directions anywhere. Sure, the graphics are great, but I don't know what I'm doing. I've made random swipes and have solved the first few levels, but I feel more like a monkey at a typewriter than someone using his brain to figure it out.
Didn't read the description before purchasing... Saw that it had to be iOS 4.0 and over and bought it. Saying it will be "sluggish" for iPad 1 users simply means it won't work.
