The magazine itself is great. However, the recent edition asks me for my email and password before I can download. When I input that information I'm told my email hasn't been authenticated and gives me a link to contact. I have sent two emails to that link over a two day period and have received no response. Obviously, if I can not get the magazine I will be canceling the subscription.
I've gotten the print version of the magazine for years, but this app -- unlike all the other magazines I subscribe to -- doesn't let me download an issue (which I paid for in my print subscription) to my iPad.
I have had this app along with quick quilts for 2 years, always crashes. It takes a long time to load also. I wish you got the magazine too with the digital version, then at least I would have the digital to fall back on. Since they do not, I am stuck trying to get pattern and snapping a pic of it on my iPad and fall back to the photos!
I'm updating my earlier review. Now I cannot even get the magazine I paid for. Catalogue page just freezes every time (for three months now) McCall's says to contact Apple for a refund. Apple says it a McCall's problem. Horrible. I get the magazine all right, in newsstand on my ipad. However, I can print only the pattern template section at the end - I cannot print the patterns that appear throughout the body of the magazine. I used to be able to email a link from within the app and download a pdf via the link, but now when I email a link it takes me to a page requiring me to sign in to publisher's website (which one cannot do with only Apple ID) So you buy the mag for patterns and then get only a very few of the patterns. Theft of my money, if you ask me. Blah.
I purchased magazines that I can't get to open to read. Please correct the problem.
Every time I try to open purchased magazine it won't open for me. Don't know what to do. Can't get access to past issues. iTunes refunded me for current issue.
Update from Sept 2018 does not allow me to get my issues. Cannot even find a contact source to get help! Very disappointed in digital issues. Will not buy paper !
Can’t access any of my paid issues!
Have a subscription and cannot see any issues. It will not Restore and I have tried more than 10 times. Wasted my money.
After 9 mos on my annual subscription, the app doesn’t allow restoring purchases. I don’t have access to what I’ve already purchased. Even when app was working, McCall’s link to download pdf of the paper pattern inserts never worked! Don’t waste your morning with this app.
This app still won’t restore my back issues. I have tried and tried till I’m blue in the face, using both the restore under the settings and the iTunes restore. NEITHER WORKS. Don’t waste your time and money on this app. ZERO STARS. I’m canceling my subscription. Won’t ever buy this magazine again!
I had a digital subscription for a couple of years. The last update resulted in all my issues disappearing and the restore does not work! Very upsetting to have wasted my money on this.
This is the third app this publisher and developer group released last month for quilting mags. On all 3, I and several others cannot access paid subscriptions or back issues. Clicking on restore purchases does not give a login screen mentioned in the instructions and no error message. Nothing works so you are out your $$ and your quilting ideas for the holidays!
This app will work if you get a zinio login and use that as your digital subscriber info for the magazines. All of my purchases came back. Hope this helps.
It’s February and I’m still looking for a way to get access to my past issues of McCall’s Quilting, Quick Quilts, and Quiltmaker.
This app consistently fails to respond to restore purchases requests. I have paid for a subscription I can’t use. Disgusting.
I called McCall’s and they told me they were not able too restore. All that money wasted.
I tried restoring my purchases and it only gives me this endless loop - sign-in, choose restore, it says it could take a few minutes, then nothing. I remember when the Mc Calls’ Name meant something good. Now it just reminds me of thieves, ready to take my yearly subscriptions but not delivering the product. I will be contacting my solicitor.
I signed up for a yearly subscription and have yet to get my issues. It will tell you to restore your issues and nothing happens. No response from support, if you really want this order from the website directly. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Wish I could give NO stars cause I would. It’s not worth the 1 Star.
I’ve been trying to access this app since September. The company has done noting but give me the run around. Until they fix their problems to not pay for a subscription you will be wasting your money.
