I downloaded gmail to use gmail but no, it says I need to sign in I click it, and it just has my aol account freezes up and crashes. Pointless been like this for months. 3rd attempt just giving up. worthless

I believe the real reason why as many people complain about not being able to mass delete from the phone as well as not being able to delete all files from Google Drive is a concentrated effort to get folks to upgrade their storage limit at a premium. All that junk email and useless files in drive will eventually consume free storage.

I just don’t understand how people constantly get locked out of their gmail accounts?? It seems to me if someone is trying to hack an account every other month there is a problem with your end,not the account holder and not the hacker but your server..Do Better google!

Update - thanks ChuckdaBody for providing the hack from Reddit. It worked for my iPhone 12 Pro but I have to do some extra steps. Step 1. Open Gmail app > ≡ > Settings > yourGmailAccount > Notifications > High priority only > kill Gmail app (close gmail app completely). Step 2. Use a secondary email address (ex: outlook) send 2 emails to your gmail address. You may not receive notification banner but will see the badge. Step 3. Open gmail app then close it > uninstall it. Step 4. Redownload Gmail app, open Gmail app and remove all accounts. Step 5. Sign in all accounts back, now change High priority only to All new mail for all accounts. Step 6. Repeat step 2, this time you will get notification badge, banner, sound.

Cannot sign in to my account. The camera scanner function opens instead of the keyboard. Reinstalled app and still no fix. Help.

It’s just amazing

This app has a horrible user interface. Has synchronization issues between devices, adds extra steps to basic functions, has limited settings and is a battery eater. I would not recommend this for business or personal use. Just stick to the stock Apple mail app.

What did you do!? With this update I can’t open my email. The app says to sign in and it brings up a different email account not my work email. I can’t add another account either. Please fix

FWIW Notification Badges are back for me They just started working all by themselves Thanks to whoever

My Gmail account will not give me notifications when I have new emails. In order for me to know I have a new email I have to check daily. I have missed quite a few work opportunities due to this

No icon notifications, just sound and banner. All settings are correct. iOS 15.4.1 killed my icon notification for Gmail

No badges, default mail sound has disappeared. No fix from Google for weeks...I'd rather use the Mail app for iOS, and that app is hot garbage, so that's saying something...and no, I won't be submitting any details. Doesn't do any good. At this point the devs know what the issue is. Either roll it back, or put out a fix already. I'm not doing some weird workarounds, either. The app should just work. Period.

I was horrified. It was as if someone was reading the email I had permanently deleted. I close out the app, changed my pw but when I want to open the App again it won’t merely let me log in. It forces me to get Chrome. Also it mysteriously keeps asking for the pw over add over. What the heck?

Always telling me that the memory is full

No Notifications; no badge count; nothing on lock screen or Notification Center. New emails aren’t loading unless I manually open the app, which can be a problem if waiting for something important to come through. It’s been this way for quite some time now. Others have the same complaint.

The inability to turn off the in app browser for me is the reason after using the app for years on the iPhone I uninstalled. It’s frustrating and unnecessary - besides offering Google a way to track your activity and push ads. Too often I find myself in a cycle where a page closes or quits from the in app browser, and I’ve lost the page completely.

Used this app exclusively for it’s ease of use. Since the updates a couple months ago, the badge icons don’t work and notifications are spotty. You have to continually open the app to check for incoming messages. Despite reporting this problem and having tried every viable solution recommended in Google help and different forums I have completely dumped this app. I recommend looking at other mail apps as the last several updates have not addressed any of the issues that thousands of users have reported. Read the recent reviews. The response from the developers are are canned auto responses which do not fix any of the bugs.

A signature is a part of branding. When the signature falls below the entire reply message, it defeats the purpose of offering a signature. If by using this app, I only have the option of my signature falling to the bottom of the conversation I choose NOT to use the app. This is a known issue for years. Not impressed.
