Orange Zones Workout Companion App DESCRIPTION

Get in the Orange Zone and make every workout count! Studies have shown workouts with 12 or more points burn more calories and provide the best results. Earn 1 point for each minute you spend in the orange and red zones during your workout.

Use your Apple Watch or connect any Bluetooth heart rate monitor for heart rate and see your real-time zones, points, calorie burn, and more.

Orange Zones is a workout tracking app for measuring intensity, whether at home, outdoors, or in the gym. We create personalized zones, based on your max heart rate, so you can focus on doing your best and getting the best result from your workout.

Leave your phone at home for your Orange Zones runs using the stand-alone Apple Watch or set your iPhone on your treadmill to see a large display of your stats during your workout.

Now with support for starting and stopping workouts on your iPhone, your phone display can be used as a real-time monitor of your stats as well as for viewing your workout details after your workouts.

Whether you’re an athlete or fitness newbie, Orange Zones can help you stay on track and achieve your goals. By breaking down fitness barriers of ability and instead of tracking your zones, our goal is to create the most inclusive and effective workout platform available.

Orange Zones supports a variety of workout types including HIIT, Running, Cycling, Hiking, Cardio, Rowing, and more.

Heart Rate Zones
Orange Zones has five heart rate zones so you can understand your exercise intensity at a glance.

1. RED – For improving performance and speed.
2. ORANGE – For getting faster and leaner. Drives metabolism.
3. GREEN – For improving cardio endurance.
4. BLUE – For longer exercise. Predominantly uses fat for energy.
5. GREY – For preparation and recovery. Does not improve fitness.

Maximize your afterburn, or “EPOC” by earning at least 12 points, spending at least 12 minutes in the Orange and Red Zones. Or, opt for a lower intensity day and stay in the Green Zone to improve endurance.

I really want this app to work. Tried out a class at OTF and loved the concept. However, didn’t love the idea of spending $129 on the heart monitor plus the workouts can easily be done in a home gym on my own... As soon as I left class I sat in my car and found this app. I downloaded onto my phone and went through the steps to download the Apple Watch app but it’s not showing up. After it tries to link, it tells me it can’t find it and to do it manually through the watch app but the app doesn’t show up there either. I am only able to use it on my phone after I’ve finished a workout. How do I fix it? I would like to use it while I’m working out so I can see how I switch between the zones. HELP !

Great workout ! Good job corporate. Did not miss hearing the negativity from the usual rap or hip hop that is played . Love a playlist made for a workout . A steady BPM . The negative lyrics cancel any endorphins I get . . Would not bring a friend to workout and listen to hip hop/ rap music . It too suggestive & offensive . Don’t care if it’s the number one genre right now . Im not desensitized to it. It’s not ok with me . The ear plugs I wear don’t always drown it out .

I used this app occasionally when I had the iPhone 7 and series 3 Apple Watch and enjoyed it. I was excited to install it on my iPhone 13 and Apple Watch series 7. However, when I go to allow my health data to be shared with Orange zones the screen is blank. There’s nothing for me to click to allow the data to be shared. Since I can’t give this app access to my Apple health app I can’t use it on my iPhone rendering it useless. I was very disappointed.

This app never records my distance for my runs or walks and it’s frustrating because I have allowed the app access to my location always, and I have all of the settings adjusted so that the app should record my miles splits and it never records my distance.

This app has been a game changer because I can use it on my Apple watch when I go to OrangeTheory and quickly see my heart rate zone and get a great summary after. The OTF band is glitchy and often keeps me in the grey zone. I was also having to look up at the screens all the time to see my zone. On this app my effort and zone color always match because I am bypassing the glitchy OTF band and when I change zones the watch vibrates so I don’t have to look at the screen all the time. Love it!!

I use this app as alternative heart rate zone track at orange theory so I don’t have to pay for their $150 HRM. It works pretty well for that but a bunch of features that used to be free they just took away like being able to see your history and seeing your HR over the course of the exercise etc. It’s one thing if you want to do that for new users but doing it for people that have been using the app for over a year is pretty sneaky if you ask me. Going to start looking for alternatives unless this gets turned around.

The app is great when it works but 99% of the time there is a 10+ minute lag where it just shows I’m in the gray zone. I have done 30 min workouts that never catch up.

I’ve been using orange zones for two years and the app mostly works well but seems to have a new glitch every update. I’m super disappointed they took away the heart rate graph and your workout history and put them behind a paywall with the latest update. Charging for basic features and calling it a premium plan, instead of actually adding features for the premium is a cheaper money grab that leaves a sour taste. I’ll be looking elsewhere to record my heart rate data now, I can’t recommend paying for what are basic features on an app with constant bugs.

This has been fantastic-I use it for all my OTF workouts! This works when my OTF heart rate monitor doesn’t (which is pretty often).

Nothing compares to this app for utility and outstanding UI… EXCEPT for no tracking of mileage totals. I want to be able to see weekly, monthly and annual mileage totals. A close competitor has the ability to compare past 3 weeks/months/years which is HUGELY helpful. If you add this feature ORANGE ZONE will be unbeatable!!!

Ok app… Took away all the good features now that there are payment plan to choose from… agin good but not that good. You’re appl workout app will do you better and there are so many that will do more for free now, sorry y’all did it

Finally got around to writing a review. This app stalls all the time. It takes a good like five minutes to get a change on my watch, so basically my first five minutes don’t count correctly. Depending where I am when the watch finally adjusts I’ll have five minutes in grey or blue or green or orange just all at once. I’ve tried starting it before entering class but it still finds a way to stall as soon as I start to jog/warm-up.

Just got my Apple Watch and been using this for OTF (as well as their HRM), the first two times it worked great, I think it is actually more exact than theirs because there is no time lag. But then yesterday and today it will just stay in 55% and would not go up.

I build all my workouts around the zones in the app; it is so much better than Orange Theory or Peloton apps!
