This game is truly a masterpiece, really worth the money, the graphics are so beautiful, and there were definitely some challenging parts. I have battled through depression twice and still struggle with it a bit and I could really connect to the story behind it. The only con about the game that I have is that I wish it was longer!
Amazing game - played through it on one sitting on Nintendo Switch. Experience not so great on Mac. Please fix controller connectity on M1 mac.
Lovely game. Fun experience. Very contemplative. It's quite frustrating that this game doesn't support a controller. I'm not in any way a gamer, but I'm so used to everything else in Apple world being plug & play I naively assumed that of course it would be supported, but ... guess not! Using the keyboard reminds me of playing games on my ZX Spectrum 35 years ago ... but not in a fun way. :(
I really want to keep playing but now my iMac freezes at the red storm too! So sad for a game that cost $10. it was worth it at first but now 20 minutes in, i cant play it anymore.
please fix :(
I really don't wanna give it one star, but I keep getting the same error: “GRIS.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “GRIS.app” and download it again from the App Store. Have tried deleting, restarting but still didn't work. I have a fresh clean Big Sur installed on my Macbook Pro.
I would totally recommend this game. It is a perfect combination of a puzzle and skill game with gorgeous animations.
I would love to play. I tried through Steam and the App store, but it keeps getting stuck at the beginning of the red area. I have to force quit the game. No matter how many times I try.
Please give me a refund.
Ok, I like to play games on the computer. I especially like puzzle games, do NOT like first person shooter games (which this isn't) for the following reason: I do not have good dexterity and it's difficult to do tricky maneuvers with my hands/keyboard. I just don't have the coordination. I played GRIS halfway enjoying the game, figuring out how to progress until it got to a point where I knew what to do to solve the puzzle, but I just could not do it. My hands are...pyucked!! (a word I made up to describe something that doesn't work right). So I cannot progress in GRIS. I'm halfway through the game and can't go any further. Therefore it's only worth half of what I paid! I want $5 back!!!!!!
Between the music, the artistry and the back story (silently told) this game will actually bring a tear to your eye. I am glad I spent the money on this. I actually deal with depression and this shed so much light on how I am thinking. I had some issues here and there through out the game and was easily frustrated but it was so worth it in the end! JUST TRUELY INCREADIBLE!
Beautiful artwork and music! Love how there are no timers or lives. You can play at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful graphics and enchanting music. Lots of hidden challenges.
It's a beautiful disappointment. I really wanted to love this game, but here's an idea.... add some directions/instructions to your game. ANYWHERE! the developler site is worthless and without gaming hardware, this is fun for about 1 minute.
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this. I was so enchanted by the images. But I can't play it on my iMac (although it is "compatible"), as I don't have the hardware to play it. I have a trackpad, mouse, and wacom tablet. So very sad. And there is no way to reach the developers, which feels like a ripoff. I can't afford to waste my money, and I just did. I'm very unhappy.
Like others who have left reviews, I get stuck on the 'red storm' part. Once the storm subsides, the game becomes unresponsive and freezes. It's a pity - the game is gorgeous and the concept is wonderful. I hope the devs release a patch!
Playing on a 2019 macbook pro. Goes to opening menu screen, but no cursor or indication of how to start the game.
gris has the nic and calm soundtrack. Although playing celeste this game doesn't amtch up it ti. The levels are nice and colerful with the hand drawn charecter and abckground mixed with the moving envirment is nice and no trouble.
the game is beautiful, if you dont understand you can go to settings and itll tell you what what does in controls. i have a mac boook air and got through the red spot. the only time it crashed is when i couldnt figured it out but theres a way to get pass the level. i enjoyed the game
Beautiful game, but betrays its console origins a little too much. You begin in a flat landscape, with only the ability to walk left or right and collapse to your knees. If you walk left, you're blocked by some steps and it feels like the controls are non-functional. If you walk right, though, you eventually get through some fog and the gameplay begins in earnest with the spacebar converting from a "kneel" button to a "jump" button. Overall, really beautiful and fun (although I'm still in the early stages) but I'm taking off a star because I still haven't found how or if it's possible to remap keys (I'm lefthanded and WASD is a PITA) and even how to quit the game withoug force-quitting it.
