I used to love this app and used it to write my journal entries and dream journals when it was called JOUR. Recently they made a lot of changes to the UX, including making you log in to back up your entries. I set up an account and while it had preserved the dates of my check-ins, almost all the text was missing. I also saw some bugs with the titles displaying as {{info}} like the JavaScript was bugging. Anyway, I exported the data as a text file and it only logged the date and times of my past entries, not the text itself. I logged out and logged back in to see if it would refresh and suddenly lost everything saved prior to creating an account. I was absolutely devastated as I had been keeping dream journals and notes on my life during the past 3 years now, super intimate stuff during pivotal moments in life. I contacted their support and they said they couldn’t retrieve the data, without giving a reason. I am super confused as to how they lost the text but stored the instances of my past entries? Couldn’t they find it tied to my IP address?? I’m so crushed by this, my trust is broken. I’ll be sticking to notes app on my phone since the added features aren’t worth the risk of losing everything for me. I appreciate what they’re trying to do but I think they’ve finished the quality of the app by adding a bunch of unnecessary features. I’d be willing to come back if I could retrieve my data. Other notes: - the opening survey is just waaaay too long - I was forced to do the opening survey again after logging out and back in - some of the user flow tracks in the app don’t give a clear exit route and it gets pretty maddening

Initially I loved it and recommended it to all my friends but after a month or so it got really repetitive so I canceled it. I wish they would provide some variances in the journaling.

I have been a user for a couple of years or more. This last update has locked my app. It is forcing me to accept terms and conditions to download my data. The notice says my data is saved. How can I get it without agreeing? In the terms, it says any of my posts can be used by the company in any way they want. I do not want to agree to any of that before exporting my data.

Mostly my complaint is that the app is buggy in very novice ways that suggest that things just aren’t being tested or they need more / better developers and designers who are thinking about what happens at every interaction flow because stuff is just breaking. Buttons that don’t work and edge case flows that don’t make sense. Being asked to log in after writing a journal because I was mysteriously logged out as I was writing it, only to hit the back button once I AM logged in just to ask to resubscribe. I am personally tired of being a test subject for a product I’m paying for, I want a majority of the experience to be stable. The masterclass feature seems like a half baked initiative that leaves me asking what they wanted it to be. It used to just be a smart journaling app that could suggest smart prompts, but they’re not making the prompts smarter. After using it for over a year I’m seeing mostly the same journal prompts every day. Navigating edge cases or bugs seems to just break the flow and function very easily. Dismiss and close buttons that don’t work, login forms that show up after you write a journal entry because it forgot your authentication, then forget to return you to where you were once you reauthenticate. A flow asking me 20 questions on myself for creating a “custom plan” that doesn’t actually seem to have changed anything. I would like this app to grow but I am personally worried they’re more concerned about casting their net too wide in the transition to Alan Mind. It feels like they’re now aiming to be an “everything app” with a beta product feel, rather than making sure they release more stable consumer-ready features.

Honestly, the simplicity and aesthetic of the app makes it that much better. Not only do you get a solid pre-trial timeframe, it’s very straightforward and an easy guide. That’s perfect for an app like this because other apps I have tried in the past are far too overwhelming and “busy” that I usually sway away from them. I love the prompts and this app genuinely feels like it’ll be super beneficial. I even love that there is a radio button with simple options. Lo-Fi is my favorite chill music. :)

sometimes i suddenly can't open my entries despite being able to do so just seconds before so i have to close the app and open it again. it's also crashed several times too when i tried to save an old draft.

I spent the $60 to get full use from the app. It is constantly freezing up. Everyday after I do my morning journaling it’ll show part of an article and you can click on “know more”, it NEVER works. I can click it 100 times and it won’t open the full article. For this app to cost so much EVERYTHING should be working smoothly.

i’ve done trials for a few different cbt / coaching apps but i quit this trial three days in because it was the least compatible one i’ve come across. first, it keeps requiring i watch this longish video on panic attacks - i don’t even have panic attacks. i’m marking i’m “ok” and just “distractible” so insisting i focus on an irrelevant video is not helpful. the videos are in french, so it would require staring at my phone to read subtitles. i fast forward and then the next day, i’m required to watch it again to be able to do the day check in. just not at all helpful.

Purchased a yearly subscription only to see a small typo in my email. There is no way to correct it or transfer the data or subscription. Huge waste. Poor customer service. There should be an way to confirm your email. The subscription I paid for is connected to an email that does not exist.

I really love the idea of this app so far. I had a successful first day. My second day I got to how I was feeling. Logged out. And when I went back in to do some more, my Home Screen wouldn’t load. Day three my Home Screen still isn’t loading and I just updated the app an hour or so ago. But yeah as son as that’s resolved I know I’ll be completely happy with this app.

I like this app because it gives me a daily dose of therapy for free and I could really use that. I’m am a little concerned about where all the content is going and who all is reading it. The other problem is that it doesn’t let me in half the time, it just sits on the title screen and doesn’t let me type anything. Frustrating!!🤬 3 stars is the best I could give it.

The daily journals provided by the free plan are an effective and easy way to wind down & clear the mind before sleeping. I was tempted by the many subscription features I needed to (annoyingly) dismiss each day after journaling so I went for the free trial. I canceled after a couple of days for the following reasons: - The additional daily journal increased anxiety by causing me to start thinking about things that hadn’t been on my mind before journaling (ex. “List everything you accomplished today” “What hobbies do you wish you devoted more time to?”) - The videos were irrelevant for me and also not what I’m interested in watching right before bed (ex. “What is a panic attack?”) - It was giving me an energizing breathing exercise even though my journals were done in the evening before bed Maybe I’ll try again later on when you’ve had a chance to improve the experience! It has potential but is not worth $60. Thanks for providing a nice free product though :)
