The button at the bottom has been so helpful at bringing down anxiety and reminding me of things I’ve already learned but forget in the moment about panic attacks and anxiety. I have agoraphobia and use this app almost daily as I do exposure therapy. I cannot recommend this app enough, everyone with anxiety and panic attacks needs to have it downloaded. I showed it to my therapist and she loved it too.

Started with the Sleep Audio and way to short to even start to relax. Then the app took me to a journal to write 3 things I did big or small during the day. I used the microphone and it just got stuck on one word “Today Today Today Today......” stressing me out more than before going on the app. To be fair, I also have a migraine and this probably wasn’t a good time to try a new app.

I use the free version. I love the app and the many features it offers! Almost every section of Rootd is a part of my nightly routine before I fall asleep. The journal feature takes a minimalist approach to help focus on the positives things you did so I can fall asleep remembering the high points of my day. There’s a second text box to freewrite whatever else you think was important about your day. I use it a lot because I rely on past journal entries to help me remember details when I’m retelling events to my therapist. If you ever want to look at old journal entries, you can swipe through the dates to find other months! The Breathr feature is great for winding down at the end of the day or any time you need to relax with both visual and/or audio cues to help you time your breathing. The Sleepr stories are soft and soothing as they should be, whether it’s a soundscape to set the ambiance or a story to follow along to as you doze off. There’s also articles that you can read about anxiety that are very informative and help you use hard facts to accept your experience as more than just something made up in your head. One of the best parts of Rootd is that there’s a panic button widget you can put on your Home Screen that takes you right into the app. If you feel a panic attack coming on, or just need some extra help coming down from some big feelings, the panic button is there with affirmations to ground you and get you through it. Rootd really thought of everything, and I cannot recommend it enough. It’s been carefully crafted by real people who know exactly what someone like me needs. It’s a common talking point during my time with my therapist because I’m always bringing up how often I use this app. Seriously, please give it a try!

I downloaded this app because although not officially diagnosed with anxiety / having panic attacks I felt myself letting my thoughts take control to the point I was so nervous I wasn’t sure what to do. First thing I honestly did was look through iPhone apps for anxiety and this was the first to pop up. I went straight for the “breathe” option and it allowed me to focus on the sound and vibration. I now use this app almost daily. Thank you to the creators. I appreciate y’all.

I love this app and it really helped me but most of the lessons are locked and you have to pay for it so I feel like you are not getting the full experience if you don’t have it you are only getting a small portion of lessons. But even without premium it is still very helpful and helped calm my anxiety. I will definitely continue using.

I give this app 4 star only because I haven’t tried all of its features. EVERYTHING I have tried is truly amazing. I love the breathing reminders throughout the day and I never knew listening to fire crackling would help me fall asleep but it did! Plus Journaling was easy and I actually wrote something down (which is something I normally avoid doing). I’m looking forward to listening to some lessons and having this app available for when ever my next anxiety attack may occur.
