Cellular implements Conway's game of life with the original rules. A cell is either dead or alive. The following rules define the next state of each cell. Any cell with less than two neighbours dies for loneliness. So does a cell with more than three neighbours because of overpopulation. A cell with exactly three neighbours will get alive. Use the simple arrow to simulate a single step or the double-arrow for the loop mode. Pause with the double bar and stop the with the square. The broom clears the matrix and the dice sets it to a random initial state. The pin saves the current state which will be reloaded by stopping the simulation. Tapping a cell in the matrix toggles the state The size of the matrix and the simulation speed are set in the settings.

Obiekty dźwiękowe mijają się wówczas ze sobą, synchronizują i desynchronizują w fascynujący sposób. Aplikacja powstała jako uzupełnienie edukacyjnej książeczki dla dzieci pt. „Ostinato”, będącej częścią cyklu pt. „Sonia w Krainie Sonostworów”, którego tytułowa bohaterka poznaje różnorodne zjawiska dźwiękowe dzięki spotkaniom z bajkowymi stworami pochodzącymi ze świata brzmień. Odgłosy wykorzystane jako baza ostinat w niniejszej grze nawiązują właśnie do treści książeczki. Oprócz „Ostinata” w skład serii wchodzą również „Glissando” i „Alikwoty” – każdej z nich towarzyszy analogiczna aplikacja mobilna, zapraszamy więc do zapoznania się z nimi. The Game of Life (an example of a cellular automaton) is played on an infinite two-dimensional rectangular grid of cells. Each cell can be either alive or dead. The status of each cell changes each turn of the game (also called a generation) depending on the statuses of that cell's 8 neighbors. Neighbors of a cell are cells that touch that cell, either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal from that cell. The initial pattern is the first generation. The second generation evolves from applying the rules simultaneously to every cell on the game board, i.e. births and deaths happen simultaneously. Afterwards, the rules are iteratively applied to create future generations. For each generation of the game, a cell's status in the next generation is determined by a set of rules.
